Facilitating design: examining the effects of facilitator’s neutrality on trust and potency in an exploratory experimental study

Abstract Facilitation style appears to be an important determinant of design team effectiveness. The neutrality the group facilitator may a key factor; however, characteristics and impact are relatively understudied. In designed classroom setting, we examine two different approaches facilitation: (i) facilitator’s expressed as low equidistance high impartiality (ii) impartiality, on trust , potency. To do this, conducted repeated-measures experiment with student sample. Our results indicate that facilitators expressing through had greater positive trust. did not differ potency These contribute developing theories facilitation effectiveness by suggesting how shape in design.
